The intention of Elysia for Liv is to create an ecologically and socially sustainable life style brand.

We believe that what you put on your body can be as important as what you put in your body when it comes to good health. Through research it has been proven that certain textiles can help with chemical sensitivities, allergies and other negative health side effects that can be a direct result of the growing and manufacturing practices used for conventional cotton.

Organic farming protects the environment through farming practices that are in harmony with the environment. By doing this we are also protecting the farm workers as they don't come in to contact with toxic chemicals. Creating a Living soil is the basis of organic farming and 'certified organic' means it is free from toxic chemicals for at least three years, and enriched by compost and other organic matter.

Good working conditions and fair pay for workers are paramount to achieving sustainable production and so it goes without saying that all Liv product comes from fairly traded sources. After much research to find suppliers with the same aims and ethical integrity, Elysia now works in partnership with a Fairtrade and organic project in India. Elysia are also working towards developing a second Fairtrade supplier partnership in Egypt producing biodynamic cotton and linen products. Elysia is developing with them ranges of beautiful, high quality Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels.
